My son James, Bramble and I are messing about in our clinker built dinghy. The dinghy was built in the 1920s and perhaps even earlier than that. It is a sturdy, well built craft designed to withstand the rigours of being pulled up the pebbles in Clovelly harbour and being rowed into Bideford Bay. Both my son and daughter learnt to row in her and we have taken her on camping expeditions along the river Torridge to Crow Point and Weare Giffard.
