Kathleen and May off Lundy. 'Time for a Beer at the Marisco.'
A limited edition giclee print of 495. 22x 14.5 inches approximately.
As dusk falls the Kathleen and May is coasting towards the shelter of the landing beach at Lundy to drop anchor for the night. The crew will then row ashore and climb the steep path to the small settlement atop the towering cliffs - as they are in time for a beer at the Marisco tavern.
The Kathleen and May was the last wooden sailing schooner to trade along the coast of Britain. She was saved for the nation in 1999 by Steve Clarke OBE in an extensive restoration in her home port of Bideford. She now lies in the Albert dock near the Maritime Museum of Liverpool.
