Clovelly Lifeboat, The City of Bristol, a Clyde Class Boat.
A limited edition lithographic print of 850. The proceeds now go to the RNLI.
I painted this painting to raise funds for a new Clovelly lifeboat when the "City of Bristol" was withdrawn from the village. The print raised over £20,000 and Clovelly was able to buy their own lifeboat. Ten years later the RNLI returned.
The City of Bristol was based at Clovelly and had two permanent crews. She was an RNLI Clyde class, ocean going lifeboat for the Bristol Channel. When she left Clovelly she was retired from the fleet and now sails from Buckie as the "Gemini Explorer."
