I was commissioned to paint this scene of Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales. It is a spectacular limestone cliff some 270 feet high much loved by climbers and walkers. It was formed by the action of glaciers and water over millions of years, as the ice melted a massive waterfall thundered over the Cove. Now a small waterfall tumbles down the cliff and runs through the valley as a babbling brook.
